The European Youth Award (EYA) is a pan-European contest to motivate young people, social entrepreneurs and start-ups to produce digital projects with impact on society.
It demonstrates their potential to create innovative solutions with Internet and Mobile technology addressing the goals defined by the Council of Europe and Europe 2020.
This year Graham was invited to be part of the online Jury joining 30 other international delegates to evaluate the submissions via the online database. At the start of September, he then had the honour of being part of the Grand Jury who met in Cluj-Napoca, Romanina to debate and decide upon the 13 projects that would be invited to the grand final in Graz, Austria in November.
Cluj-Napoca is the 2015 European Youth Capital and our presence there was one of many activities that our hosts have facilitated this year. It was truly inspirational meeting with the young talented aspirational team that have been working tirelessly to put their city on the map.
“It has been a great honour to be part of the Grand Jury for this years award. I found the whole process enlightening and inspiring, as it’s only through such initiatives as this that we get to share and expose ourselves to such a diverse spectrum of fantastic work from all corners of the continent. It was a pleasure to collaborate with my fellow jurors to reach our final conclusions.”
We have also brought the EYA back to lincoln with 11 of our 2nd year Digital Media students signed up to take part in the Online Student Project starting later this month.
